Membership Program

The purpose of Mehr Organization Membership Program is to:

Provides lectures in Health & Welfare, Culture & Recreation, Education and Information, Food & Nutrition, Excursions, Volunteers & Support. Details of Activities listed in this document. Arranges bi-weekly gatherings including complete dinner, Celebrates Nowruz and Mehrgan festivities. Provides musical programs by local artists are held few times a year for enjoyment. Schedules excursions to various sightseeing such as museum within a day’s travel time in Northern California and Nevada, Accumulate and manage money and properties donated or purchased for the use and benefit of the Senior Citizens of the Greater Sacramento area, California. The obligations of membership proposed by the Executive Committee of Mehr Organization are intended to reflect Mehr’s core values and distinctive role as a membership program, subject to appropriate respect for the autonomy of its members.

Qualification for Membership:

Applications for membership shall be addressed to the Mehr BOD accompanied by evidence that the applicant has fulfilled all the requirements as reflected below:

• Applicant shall be minimum of 55 years of age
• There is no discrimination based on gender, marital status, language spoken, country of origin, sect, etc.
• Substitution for member attendance is not allowed.
• The membership fee per person is a lifetime charge of $100.
• A membership application is required.
• Honor Membership for Board of Directors and High Donors ($1000 and up)

Some of Membership Benefits:

• Discounted fee for bi-weekly gathering and other events or classes.
• All members have voting rights for BOD. The elections are held in June every alternate year.
• Various announcements are made and the birth dates of members are celebrated.
• The names of dinner sponsors, new members, and donors are gratefully acknowledged.
• Community happenings, achievements by members and their families, visitors from Iran, deaths, changes in government regulations etc.
• Priority access to Mehr special events tickets.
• Privilege to vote to elect the Board of Directors. The elections are held in June Every alternate year.
